Welcome to The Exhibit Hall
Every idea on display here once dreamed of becoming the next big app-until reality (and user feedback) intervened. Browse the shelves of digital ambition, from prototypes that overpromised to concepts that were simply too weird for the world. Each card opens a window into its short but fascinating life cycle.
SipSync
Match with friends based on your favorite drinks (coffee orders, boba toppings, cocktail preferences).
Too niche; no one wanted to admit how much caffeine they drank.
Reflekt
Uses your front camera to show affirmations over your reflection each morning.
Users said it felt “too intimate” and awkward-especially when it froze mid-sentence.
PetSwap
Temporary pet-sharing app so people could “borrow” local pets for the weekend.
Legal issues, allergies, and one user “forgot to return” a cat.
NightNote
Voice-to-text app for ideas that come to you half-asleep.
Most transcriptions were unreadable or terrifying. (“Why is the moon in the fridge?”)
WorkBFF
Randomly assigns coworkers a “buddy” for daily morale check-ins.
Generated forced small talk and awkward HR meetings.
AltMe
Lets users create alternate digital identities and swap between them socially.
Too confusing-and people started liking their fake selves more than their real ones.
Procrastimate
Connects users who are currently procrastinating so they can “waste time together”.
No one ever actually did anything-even on the app.
LeftOverLink
Lets users swap leftover food photos and meet for “shared meals”.
Food safety nightmare. Deleted after week one.
TaskTomb
A “graveyard” app where users can bury abandoned projects and write digital eulogies for them.
Ironically, the developing team abandoned it mid-launch.
Reflections from the Recycle Bin
Some ideas fail fast, others fade quietly-but all of them reveal how imagination works in progress. The Museum keeps these concepts alive as reminders that innovation isn’t just about success; its about daring to think differently in the first place.
